Skills reference: every skill, by group
This page lists every skill in the Skills section, grouped the way the screen groups them. Use it to check what a skill does before you turn it on. To learn how to switch skills on, see Skills.
Find it: Sidebar → Agents → open an agent → Skills
How to read the "Needs" column:
- — works on its own.
- Connected app works only after you connect that app in Integrations.
- Confirmation means the agent must get a clear "yes" before it acts. The row shows a Needs confirmation badge.
The list can change
The skill list comes live from Voxido, so new skills can appear before this page is updated. Each row's one-line text in the app is always current.
Messages — send a WhatsApp or SMS
| Skill | What it lets the agent do | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Send WhatsApp message | Reply in its own words. Only works inside WhatsApp's 24-hour window (24 hours after the customer's last message). | — |
| Send WhatsApp template | Send an approved WhatsApp template. Use it to message first, or after the 24-hour window. | An approved template. See Build a WhatsApp template. |
| Send WhatsApp flow | Start a WhatsApp journey by sending that flow's first template. | A WhatsApp flow |
| Send SMS | Send a short text message. | — |
| Send WhatsApp document | Send a PDF or file, like a brochure or invoice. | — |
| Send WhatsApp location | Share your map pin. | — |
| Send WhatsApp catalog link | Send a link to your WhatsApp catalog. | A WhatsApp catalog |
| Send WhatsApp product list | Send several products from your catalog. | A WhatsApp catalog |
| Send WhatsApp product | Send one product card from your catalog. | A WhatsApp catalog |
Every message skill follows your messaging rules. It won't message someone who opted out, and it respects quiet hours and sending limits.
Answers — look something up, or ask
| Skill | What it lets the agent do | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Search knowledge base | Look up FAQs, policies, prices or documents to answer correctly. | A knowledge base linked in the agent's Knowledge section |
| Ask the contact a question | Collect one specific piece of information and wait for the answer. | — |
| Flag a question we couldn't answer | Save a question the agent couldn't answer, so your team can add the answer later. | — |
| Search the web | Look up public information, like weather, directions or local events. | — |
Contacts — read and update the person
| Skill | What it lets the agent do | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Update contact information | Save what the person shares (name, ID, preference) on their contact record. | — |
| Look up contact information | Read one saved field from the contact record. | — |
| Move contact to a stage | Move the contact in your pipeline, for example from "New lead" to "Qualified". | Contact stages set up |
| Record contact opt-out | Mark that the person asked to stop. Future messages to them are blocked. Only a team member can undo it. | — |
| Find Contact | Search your contacts for people who match a role or description (for example "cook" or "someone like…"). Admins get extra Find contact settings under the row. | — |
| Reveal Contact | Share locked contact details found by Find Contact, only after the person agrees. Can charge credits. | Confirmation |
| Lookup Contact Across Workspaces | Check if the caller has a profile at another of your locations. | More than one workspace |
| Extract Id Document | Read a government ID photo the person sent on WhatsApp. | — |
Moving a stage doesn't start other agents
When the agent itself uses Move contact to a stage, it does not fire another agent's "When a contact's status changes" trigger. Only moves made by people do. See Contact-change triggers.
Find contact settings (admins only) let you choose which workspaces to search, which stages count, which details stay locked until the person agrees, and whether sharing them costs credits.

| System → Voxido | Remember (save a lasting fact about the person, used in every future chat), Note Session Fact (note something for this conversation only), Share Document (send a file from your knowledge base as a link), and every Custom API you've shared with agents. |
| Your apps → an app | The skills you turned on for that app in Integrations. Each shows how it runs: "The agent can use this when it helps", "The agent asks the customer first", or "Runs after the team approves". |
