Answer calls in your browser: the incoming-call popup
When your AI agent passes a call to you, Voxido shows a popup. It says who is calling and what the AI learned, so you pick up knowing what the call is about. Only the person whose turn it is sees it.
You can answer in two ways. Computer: you talk through your browser with a headset. Mobile: your phone rings, and the popup still shows the details if Voxido is open.
Find it: It appears at the top right of any Voxido page while a call rings for you.
Who gets the popup
You get handed-over calls when all of these are true:
- An admin switched on Takes calls for you in People, and chose Answers on: Computer or Mobile.
- Call routing is On. See Call routing.
- Your status is Available. See Your status and leave.
- For Computer: your login is linked to your person, and Voxido is open in a browser tab.
Before your first call
- Plug in a headset or microphone (Computer only). When you first pick up, your browser asks to use the microphone. Click Allow. You'll see: the browser's microphone prompt, once per site.
- Turn on call alerts. Voxido asks once: Get call alerts in other tabs. Click Turn on alerts, then allow notifications in your browser. You'll see: a browser notice when a call rings while you're in another tab. Not now skips this.
- Click anywhere in Voxido once after you open it. Browsers keep a page silent until you click on it, so this lets the ring sound play.
- Keep a Voxido tab open. It can be in the background.
What the popup shows

- Incoming call for you, and why it came to you:
- "Round robin · your turn (1 of 4 available)": it's your turn in the line.
- "Your turn (1 of 4 available)": the same, in a team that takes calls by level. See How each team takes calls.
- "Your guest · you're their owner": you are this caller's Owner, so you're rung first.
- "Their owner isn't free · you're the backup": you are their Backup owner.
- A countdown ring with the seconds left. It starts from Ring each person for in Call routing.
- A speaker button to mute the ring sound.
- The caller: name, a Returning contact tag if they've been in touch before, the workspace they called, part of their number, and their stage.
- What (agent name) learned: a short summary of the call so far, and up to four details the AI saved, like a date or a budget.
Pick up on Computer
- Click Pick up on your headset to answer, or press Alt+A (Option+A on a Mac). You'll see: Connecting… while Voxido joins you to the call.
- Listen to the AI's one-line introduction, for example "Hi Priya, I have a caller on the line: …". The caller hears it too. Then the AI leaves. You'll see: the card changes to Call picked up · ongoing, with the talk time. It says "Status is now On a call, so no other calls ring for you."
- Talk to the caller. Fill in How did the call go? on the right while you talk, if you like. You'll see: the outcome panel docked on the right side of the screen.
In the last two seconds of the ring you can't pick up any more. The call is already moving to the next person.
If the caller's contact has no Owner, you become the Owner. If they already have one but no Backup owner, you become the Backup owner. See Assignee and Reporter.
Pick up on Mobile
Your phone rings, showing the business number the customer called. If Voxido is open, the popup also appears. Instead of a pick-up button, it says Ringing your mobile — pick up your phone to answer.
- Answer your phone. You'll see: nothing new on the phone. You hear the AI's introduction, then the caller.
- If Voxido is open, fill in How did the call go? while you talk. You'll see: the outcome panel on the right. Minimise it, and a small card says On a call with Priya and On your mobile.
Declining on your phone counts the same as not answering.
Pass to next
Click Pass to next, or press Alt+P (Option+P on a Mac). This works on Computer and on Mobile.
You'll see: "Passed to Rahul, next in line", and below it: "This counts as your turn, so you move to the back of the line. The caller hears hold music, not ringing."
Passing never sets you to Away. In Team calls, a pass shows in your Missed count.
If you don't answer
When the countdown ends, the call moves on. The popup says, for example, "No answer in 20 seconds. Moved to Rahul". This counts as your turn and as a missed call.
Two missed calls in a row
Miss two handed-over calls in a row and Voxido sets you to Away until you, or a manager, set you back to Available. If your person has an Escalates to team, that team gets an alert.
If the caller hangs up first, the popup says "The caller hung up before you answered". That isn't a missed call.
During the call (Computer)
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mute / Unmute | Turns your microphone off or on. |
| Hold / Resume | The caller can't hear you. Resume brings your microphone back. |
| End call | Ends the call for you and the caller. |
| Turn on call audio | Shows only if your browser blocked the caller's sound. Click it. |
Don't close or reload the tab during a call. Your browser asks first, because leaving the page ends the call.
After the call
When the call ends, How did the call go? stays open until you click Save outcome or Skip. If you close it with X or Esc, the call waits on a small card, for example "Your call with Priya Sharma ended", with Log outcome. See Notes and call outcomes.

Offline, background tabs and several devices
- Voxido keeps you online while it's open in any tab, even a background one.
- If no tab checks in for about 90 seconds, a Computer answerer shows Offline and is skipped. Open Voxido again and you're back within seconds.
- The call rings in every Voxido tab you have open. Answer in one, and it stops in the others. A second tab then says "You answered this call in another tab or on another device".
The ring sound
The popup plays a soft chime. Click the speaker button to Mute ring sound, and again to Turn ring sound on. The same switch is Incoming call sound in your profile menu. Your choice is saved for you, and every open tab follows it.
