What actions cost credits
Every call, message and phone number uses credits. 1 credit = ₹1. This page explains what is charged, how each charge is measured, and how to estimate what a call or a campaign will cost.
What is charged
Prices change from time to time, and your account may have its own agreed rates, so they aren't listed here. For today's rates, see voxido.ai/pricing or ask Voxido support. What you actually paid is always in Billing → Usage.
| What | Measured per | Shows in usage as |
|---|---|---|
| AI talk time (the agent listening, thinking and speaking) | minute | Voice AI |
| Phone line, call to a customer (outbound) | minute | Voice carrier |
| Phone line, customer calls you (inbound) | minute | Voice carrier |
| WhatsApp template message (the first message, or one after 24 hours) | message | |
| WhatsApp message in an ongoing chat | message | |
| SMS | 160 characters | SMS |
| Phone number rent | month | Phone rental |
A WhatsApp template message costs more than a message inside an ongoing chat, and a call to a customer uses more phone line credits than a call they make to you.
Not charged at the moment
Social post drafts in Social Studio and review analysis in Reputation are recorded in your usage, but are not charged today.
A phone call is charged twice
A call uses two meters at the same time:
- AI talk time, for the agent itself.
- Phone line time, for the call on the phone network.
So one call shows two charges in your usage: one Voice AI and one Voice carrier.
Work out what a call costs
Call cost = minutes × AI talk time rate + minutes × phone line rate
Use the outbound phone line rate when your agent calls the customer, and the inbound rate when the customer calls you. Calls are charged by the second, not rounded up to whole minutes, so a 45-second call counts as 0.75 minutes.
Work out what a campaign costs
A school reminds 200 parents about a fee date with one WhatsApp template message:
Campaign cost = 200 × the template message rate
If 50 parents reply and the agent answers each once, add 50 × the ongoing-chat message rate, plus a little AI time for each reply.
Check a real example
Run a small test first, for example 10 messages or 3 calls. Then open Billing → Usage and look at what they used. Multiply up to plan the full campaign.
WhatsApp chats also use AI time
When your agent replies on WhatsApp, it also uses a small amount of AI time to think, on top of the message price. It shows as Voice AI time in your usage.
Phone numbers
- The first month's rent is charged when you buy the number. The buy window shows the monthly rent before you confirm.
- After that, rent is charged once a month on the same date.
- Numbers are paid from credits you added (or plan credits), never trial credits.
- If there aren't enough credits on the rent date, Voxido tries again every day. Top up to keep the number.
How the charge is worked out
Voxido multiplies what you used by the price, then rounds up to four decimal places. You're never charged less than you used, and never more than a tiny fraction over.
When a price changes, it only applies from then on. Old charges are never recalculated.
Tips to spend less
| Do this | Why |
|---|---|
| Teach the agent to get to the point | Calls are charged per minute, so shorter calls cost less. |
| Use WhatsApp for reminders instead of calls | A reminder message costs a fraction of a call. |
| Reply within 24 hours on WhatsApp | Messages in an ongoing chat cost less than templates. |
| Keep only the numbers you use | Each number costs rent every month. |
