Pause, stop and track a campaign: status, Tasks and Logs
Once a campaign runs, you'll want to know three things: is it on, what has it done, and what will it do next. The Campaigns page answers all three.
Find it: Sidebar → Growth → Campaigns — tabs Campaigns, Tasks and LogsWho can use it: Owners and Admins
Pick a workspace first
Campaigns live inside one workspace. In the "All workspaces" view you'll see "Pick a workspace to see its campaigns". Choose one from the workspace switcher.
The campaign list

Each row shows the name, its status, Day-wise or Date fields, one icon per step (WhatsApp or call), the agent and its number.
Use the bar above the list to filter: All, Active, Paused, Stopped, the Campaign chip, and Search campaigns.
What the numbers mean
| Number | Counts contacts who… |
|---|---|
| Matching | are in the campaign's audience right now |
| Sent | were called or messaged at least once (held and capped tries don't count) |
| Replied | talked on a campaign call, or wrote back on WhatsApp |
| Failed | had a call or message that didn't go through |
| Completed | got the campaign's last WhatsApp step |
Click any number to open those contacts in Contacts. From there you can filter, download or save them as a segment. A red Failed number is the one to check first.
Statuses
| Status | What it means | What runs |
|---|---|---|
| Active (green) | On. Steps go out on schedule. | Everything |
| Waiting (amber) | Switched on, but its agent is a draft or paused. Hover to see why. | Nothing, until you activate the agent |
| Paused (amber) | You put it on hold. | Nothing |
| Stopped (red) | Switched off with Stop. | Nothing. It never restarts on its own, but you can resume it. |
Pausing the campaign's agent also stops all its campaigns until the agent is active again.
Pause, stop or delete? Pick the right one
| If you want to… | Use | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Hold everything for a while (a holiday, fixing a template) | Pause | Nothing sends. Resume any time. Steps that came due while paused go out on resume only if they're less than 24 working hours late. |
| Stop now, for example a wrong message went out | Stop | Every call and message stops immediately, including a call loop already running. Resuming is a separate, deliberate step. |
| Remove the campaign completely | Delete | Its schedule, call queues and playbook are removed. Contacts and their history stay. |
Pause or resume
On the list, flip the switch on the campaign's row. You'll see: "Campaign paused" or "Campaign resumed".
Inside the builder, the Pause / Resume button only takes effect when you click Save.
Stop
- On the row, open the ⋯ menu and click Stop (or click Stop inside the builder). You'll see: Stop this campaign? with a warning that everything stops now.
- Click Stop campaign. You'll see: "Campaign stopped — Its calls and messages stop immediately."
To start it again, flip its switch on the list, or click Resume in the builder.
Delete
Open the ⋯ menu → Delete → Delete campaign. This can't be undone.
Tasks: who is next
The Tasks tab plans ahead. Pick a window:
| Window | Shows | Filter chips |
|---|---|---|
| Previous | Calls and messages that already happened, with how they went. Pick All history, Last 7 days, Last 30 days or other periods. | By outcome, plus Skipped and Failed |
| Today | What already ran today and what is still due. Pick another day with the date box. | Done, Due now, Later today, Waiting |
| Upcoming | What's scheduled next: Next 30 days, Next 7 days, Next 90 days or Custom range. | WhatsApp, Calls |
Columns: Contact, Phone, Stage, Scheduled on, Step, Campaign, Status, Outcome.
Click a row to open its story. You'll see panels such as What happened, Why it ran, Why it is waiting, Why it is scheduled and What will happen. Use Open contact or Open step in campaign to jump there.
On big contact lists, Tasks loads in pages. Click Load more (or Keep searching) to continue.
"Waiting" means held, not lost
A Waiting task is held by the 48-hour quiet period after the contact wrote to you. The panel shows Can run from with the time it can go, if they stay quiet.
Logs: everything that happened
The Logs tab lists every call and message, and every contact a step held back, newest first.
- Type in Search contact or phone to find one person.
- Click Refresh to load new events.
- Click Export CSV to download the log (up to 5,000 rows).
- Click Load older events at the bottom for more.
Columns: Time, Campaign, Step, Contact, Phone, Stage, Status, Outcome.
Statuses and outcomes you'll see
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sent | WhatsApp message went out |
| Called / Calling | Call placed / still ringing |
| Skipped | The step was held back. The outcome says why. |
| Failed | It didn't go through |
| Due now, Later today, Upcoming, Waiting | Not run yet (Tasks only) |
The Outcome column says how it went:
| For | Outcomes you'll see |
|---|---|
| Calls | Talked, Picked up, no reply, Not answered, Busy, Didn't connect, Dial failed |
| Sent, Delivered, Read, Replied, Not sent, Failed |
Why a step was held or skipped
| Outcome | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Quiet period | The contact wrote to you in the last 48 hours | Nothing — it can run once they've been quiet |
| Outside working hours | Due when you're closed. The row says when you open. | Check Settings → Working hours |
| Opted out / Snoozed / Not active | The contact can't be contacted right now | Nothing, or fix the contact |
| Compliance hold | A rule blocked it, for example a marketing message to someone who never messaged you, or someone who opted out of marketing | Use a utility template, or wait |
| Already reached | This step already reached them within a day | Nothing |
| Paced / Daily limit reached / Too many live calls / Campaign limit reached | A call limit was hit | Raise the campaign's limits, or wait |
| Stopped | The campaign was stopped | Resume it if that was a mistake |
| Failed / Not sent | It didn't go through. The details say why, such as "not enough credits". | Fix the cause. That step isn't retried for this contact, but later steps still run. |
Some rows show a short code instead of a sentence, such as whatsapp_opt_in_missing (the contact never messaged you, so a marketing template can't reach them).
Ask Copilot why
Copilot can read your campaigns. Try:
- "Why didn't Priya Sharma get step 2 of New lead follow-up?"
- "Pause the Diwali offer campaign."
- "Move the reminder in Appointment reminders to 18:00."
Copilot explains using the same lists as the Tasks tab, and asks before it changes anything.
Common problems
Sent is 0 but Matching is high. Check the status isn't Waiting, your working hours are open, and the first step's time has passed. Then open Tasks → Today.
Many contacts show Skipped. Click a row to read why. Usual reasons: a marketing message to someone who never messaged you, an opt-out, or the step was too late.
A Custom step shows "Sent" but the outcome is "Not sent". The agent wasn't allowed to write freely because the contact hadn't messaged in the last 24 hours. Switch the step to an approved template.
A stopped campaign came back on. It can't by itself. Someone flipped its switch or clicked Resume.
