Your first day with Voxido
This page walks you from sign-up to a live AI agent that answers your customers. Most businesses finish the main steps in an hour or two. Each step links to a page with more detail.
We'll follow Brightway, a small service business that wants its calls and WhatsApp messages answered after office hours.
Quick start checklist
- Create your account
- Set up your business
- Get a phone number, or connect WhatsApp
- Make your first agent your own
- Test it yourself
- Go live
- Invite your team (optional)
Pick your path
Start with the problem you most want to fix. You'll do every step in the end, but the order can change.
| Your problem | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| "Calls go unanswered at night." | A phone number, then an agent that answers it | Customers can reach someone at any hour. |
| "We can't keep up with WhatsApp." | Connecting WhatsApp, then an agent for it | The agent replies in seconds and passes hard chats to your team. |
| "Leads go cold before we call back." | Importing contacts, then a campaign | A campaign follows up every lead on your schedule. |
| "I just want to look around first." | The sample data and Copilot | Click around, then ask Copilot "What should I set up first?" |
Step 1: Create your account
Sign up with Google or a work email. It takes about five minutes.
You'll see: the setup screen that says "Welcome, your name".
Step 2: Set up your business
Type your business name, your website and your industry. Voxido creates your first workspace and some starter agents, so the app isn't empty.
You'll see: the Overview page and, in the sidebar, an Onboarding card with four tasks.
Why the website matters
Voxido reads your website and turns it into Knowledge: the facts your agent answers from. A good website means good answers from day one.
Step 3: Get a phone number, or connect WhatsApp
Customers need a way to reach your agent. Choose one channel to start.
| If your customers mostly… | Set up | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Call you | A phone number | Some countries ask for ID papers (KYC) before you can buy a number. |
| Message on WhatsApp | WhatsApp on a number | WhatsApp needs a Meta business account. |
| Do both | A number first, then WhatsApp on it | One agent can answer both. |
How: Getting your first phone number · Connecting WhatsApp to a number
You'll see: your number listed under Sidebar → Phone numbers.
Step 4: Make your first agent your own
Open a starter agent, or create a new one. Tell it who it is and what to do, in plain words. Brightway writes: "You are Asha, Brightway's assistant. Answer questions about our services and timings. Book appointments. If someone is upset, pass them to the team."
How: Creating an agent · A tour of the agent editor
You'll see: a Draft badge on the agent. Drafts never answer real customers, so you can edit safely.
Step 5: Test it yourself
Before customers hear it, talk to it.
- In the agent editor, click Try it live. You'll see: a test panel where you can talk or chat to the agent.
- Ask it what a real customer would ask, like "Are you open on Sunday?" or "Can I book for tomorrow at 4?" You'll see: its answers, and anything it did, like looking up your knowledge.
- Fix what's wrong in its instructions or knowledge, then test again.
Test calls use a little of your free trial credit.
Step 6: Go live
- In the agent editor, open the checklist at the top, like 2 of 3 to launch. You'll see: the steps left: Describe what it does, Add a trigger, Turn on a messaging tool. Click Fix → next to any open step.
- When it says Ready to launch, click Publish. You'll see: the badge changes from Draft to Active. The agent now takes calls and messages.
- Check that the agent's trigger points at your number. In the agent editor, open Triggers. For calls, the trigger is When a customer calls one of my numbers; for chats, When a customer messages on WhatsApp.
- Call your number from your own phone. You'll see: the call listed in Sidebar → Agent activity, with its recording and transcript.
Want to stop it? Set the agent to Paused. You can resume any time.
Step 7: Invite your team (optional)
Your agent will pass some jobs to people. Invite the teammates who should handle them.

The Onboarding card
The Onboarding card at the bottom of the sidebar tracks four tasks: Create an agent, Add knowledge, Claim a number and Import contacts. Click a task to open its page.
It hides by itself when all four are done. You can close it early with the ×. It then stays hidden on this browser.
Your first week
| Day | Do this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Steps 1–6 | One live agent on one channel. |
| Day 2 | Read every conversation in Agent activity | You'll spot wrong answers fast. |
| Day 3 | Add missing facts to Knowledge | Fewer "I don't know" answers. |
| Day 4 | Set Working hours | The agent knows when your team is in. |
| Day 5 | Check your credit balance in Billing | Top up before the trial ends. |
Common problems
My agent doesn't answer calls. Check three things: the agent is Active, it has a trigger for calls, and the number is connected to it.
The agent gives wrong answers. It only knows what's in its instructions and Knowledge. Add the right facts, then test again.
I ran out of trial credits. Add credits in Billing. See Topping up your wallet.
