Buy a phone number
Buying a number gives your AI agent a line that customers can call. It takes about five minutes once your KYC is approved.

Before you start
- [ ] KYC is approved, or you have your Registration Certificate and GST Certificate ready to upload. See Complete KYC to buy a number in India.
- [ ] You have added credits. The first month's rent is paid now, from credits you added. Free trial credits can't be used. See How credits work.
- [ ] You know which agent should answer. You can also choose later.

Buy your number
- In the sidebar, click Phone numbers, then click Buy number at the top right. If you have no numbers yet, you can also click Get my first number. You'll see: a window called Buy a number with four steps: Country, Compliance, Pick a number, Confirm.
- Leave Country on India, then click Next. You'll see: the monthly rental under the country, for example "₹… / mo per number, paid from the credits you add". Then "Checking your KYC status…".
- If your KYC is approved, Voxido skips straight to Pick a number. If not, you'll see the KYC form. Fill it in and click Submit for review. You'll see: "Application submitted". Click Close and come back after you get the approval email. Review takes 10 minutes to 2 business days.
- On Pick a number, choose a city from the city list (it only shows when more than one city has numbers). Then click the number you like. You'll see: up to 8 numbers. Each shows its monthly rent and its price per outgoing minute. Click Show more for more numbers, or Refresh list for a fresh set.
- Click Next. You'll see: the Confirm step with your chosen number at the top.
- In Assign to agent, pick the agent that should answer. Or leave — Unassigned (assign later). You'll see: a note with the cost: the rent is charged now and then every month on the same date, plus the price per outgoing and incoming minute.
- Click Confirm — get this number. You'll see: "Activating your number — this takes about 10 seconds…", then a message Number activated. The new number opens in its details panel.
A number with no agent rings nobody
If you leave the number unassigned, calls to it are not answered. Assign an agent before you give the number to customers. See Choose which agent answers a number.
Which city and which agent? (quick guide)

Examples:
- Brightway (a service business) buys a Bangalore number and assigns "Front Desk".
- A dental clinic in Mumbai buys a Mumbai (022) number and assigns its appointment agent.
- A loan recovery team buys a second number just for reminder calls and assigns its reminder agent.
What to do next
- Name the line, so your team knows what it's for. See Name a number and test it.
- Check who answers it. The numbers list shows answered by on each row.
- Place a test call with Call my mobile to test.
- Add WhatsApp on the same number if you want chats too. See Connect WhatsApp.
- Want to send SMS from it? In India, SMS needs DLT registration (a government sender check) on your carrier's console. Then click Re-Sync on the number.
Common problems
The Next button is greyed out and says "Add credits to buy a number". Numbers are paid from credits you add. Free trial credits don't count. Click Add credits, top up, then reopen Buy number.
I see "KYC under review". Your documents are still being checked. Close the window. You'll get an email when they're approved.
No numbers show up. Click Refresh list, try another city, or click Show more.
I see "Couldn't get the number". The number couldn't be activated. Try another number. If it keeps happening, contact Voxido support.
I see "Add credits to buy this number" after I click Confirm. Your added credits don't cover the first month. Add credits and try again.
Other countries are dimmed. Only India is available today. The others show Coming soon.
